Safflower Seeds

  • Safflower seeds are used mainly for oil extraction, Safflower seed oil is flavorless and colorless, and nutritionally similar to sunflower oil. It is used mainly in cosmetics and as a cooking oil, in salad dressing, and for the production of margarine.

  • Whole safflower seeds are used as pet food, either as bird seeds for wild birds, pigeons, parrots and other pet birds, or for pet mammals such as gerbils, hamsters and chinchillas.

  • Several safflower seed products can be used as animal feeds: the seeds, the by-product of oil extraction (safflower meal) and the hulls.
